General

  • Entries to the competition must be aged between 13-18.
  • If any of the information provided is incorrect the entrant will be disqualified. This includes providing an incorrect date of birth.
  • Entrants under 16 years old must get a parent or guardian’s permission and tick the relevant box when entering.
  • Entrants must fill out an entry form and upload at least one photograph onto the website www.tammyflipback.co.uk
  • Closing date for all entries is 14th April 2008.
  • The first selection process will select a number of FINALISTS. The finalists will go to the second phase of the competition and will need to submit further photographs and may be asked further questions. These finalists will be contacted by 21th April 2008. These finalists will not receive any prize, only the final winners will receive prizes.
  • Photographs uploaded will be published on the internet and may be viewed by anyone. Bhs and other 3rd parties associated with this promotion are not liable for the photography once it has been uploaded by the entrant.
  • 4 winners (2 girls and 2 boys) will be selected though Bhs reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of winners at any time.
  • Winners will be notified by 30th May 2008.
  • Bhs reserves the right to refuse or delete entries without giving warning or reason should they deem any images or text offensive or unsuitable.
  • Only one entry per person.
  • No liability will be accepted for lost or refused entries.
  • Entrants must reside in the UK or Jersey.
  • The competition is not open to employees of Bhs or Arcadia Group of companies, families or agents and anyone connected with the event.
  • There is no cash alternative to any aspect of the prize.
  • Bhs reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any aspect of the promotion at any time.
  • The data that Bhs collect from you is processed by staff who work for us, one of our Group companies or a company identified in these terms and conditions.



The Finalists and winners

  • Finalists will be picked based on a combination of the highest average score (that is how voters have rated them) and also the judges decision.
  • The judges will be using the following criteria: How well the entrants fit the tammy/ Flipback brand identity, how popular they were with the voters, the information they have given about themselves.
  • The Judging panel will be made up of representatives from the tammy team at Bhs, the tammy PR team at Impulse ltd, and a further independent 3rd party.
  • The photo shoot will be in the London area and will be some time after 15th April 2008. Winners may be required to take 1-2 days of school or college as the shoot may be during the week. Suggested shoot dates will be put forward to the finalists before the winner is picked.
  • Bhs will cover reasonable travel and overnight costs (for example standard return train tickets for winner and one parent guardian plus overnight stay in a hotel near shoot location).
  • Winners must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for any promotional events relating to the competition including the photo shoot.
  • If a winner cannot make the photoshoot another winner will be selected in their place.
  • Images gained from the photo shoot can be used in Bhs stores at some point in 2008. Bhs hold the right to cancel this placement or re-schedule at any time. Images can be used in windows or in store and may not necessarily be across all stores, details of this will be confirmed in due course after the shoot. Images will also be used as PR shots. PR shots can be used across all media including TV, magazines, newspapers, internet, brochures etc as well as possibly advertising. Images can be used indefinitely to promote the tammy or Flipback brand though it is unlikely these will be used or published past 2008.
  • As well as the general photo shoot, there may be additional promotional opportunities surrounding the competition, for example additional photo shoots with local or national press, TV interviews etc. These possibilities will be confirmed to the winners after the finalist selection and this will be negotiable depending on winners’ availability.
  • The winners will be awarded £250 of tammy/Flipback vouchers to be redeemed at any Bhs store nationwide.
  • This competition is not in association with any model agency and no modeling contract will be offered.
  • Bhs will own the right to all images and branding associated with this competition and winners must not re-produce the images without the permission of Bhs.
  • The winners’ names will be available from 12May 2008 for six weeks by sending an SAE to tammy, Impulse, 72 Charlotte St, W1T 4QQ.
  • No discussion will be entered into, the judges decision is final.

For this competition we will not knowingly allow children under the age of 13 to enter. We will be taking reasonable steps to ensure that no entrants are under the age of 13. This will include random checks on parental information provided. We will request the parent/guardian’s contact details of every applicant. An email will automatically be sent to the parent/guardian asking them to confirm their child’s details and that they are happy for their child to enter the competition. In the event that we believe false parental details have been given we will call on the number provided. If after this we are still not happy that the correct information has been provided we withhold the right to reject the entry.

If you are under the age of 13 please do not attempt to create a profile. If you believe that there is a profile on the site that belongs to a child under the age of 13 please contact us immediately by calling the Bhs customer service centre on 0845 196 0000.

Below is a list of the information we will collect from users and the reasons why:

The following information will be displayed on the user’s profile
Photograph The competition is for visitors to the site to vote for the user they think has what it takes to be a style icon. Photographs containing any information that makes the child identifiable will be rejected. This information includes any form of uniform.
Gender We want to clarify gender in the instance that a user has a uni-sex name or an ambiguous photography
Username To protect the user’s identity we will ask for a username in place of using a real name. Any user names submitted that we deem may identify a user will be rejected. Users will be able to give their user names to friends who may want to search for their profile. Top tips on how to choose a safe user name are provided on the profile creation page.
“My hero”, “I can’t live without”, “About me” These questions will be asked to fulfil the criteria of judging the user’s attitude. Any information that may be considered offensive to visitors to the site or reveals what we deem to be personal information that identifies a user will be edited by us or the entry rejected.
Age The exact date of birth will not appear on the site but the users age will. This is for voters use if they wish to vote for someone their own age or to gauge a users attitude against their age.

The following information will NOT be displayed on the user’s profile
Full name We will use this when sending the consent email to the parent/guardian of the user. We will also use the first name if the user opts to join the tammy club and receive emails about up coming events at tammy. We will also use it when contacting the winners.
Address For the purpose of contacting winners the home address will be taken. This will not be used for marketing purposes or made available to any third parties other than those named in our terms and conditions.
Home telephone number For the purpose of contacting winners the home telephone number will be taken. This will not be used for marketing purposes or made available to any third parties other than those named in our terms and conditions.
Mobile number For the purpose of contacting winners the mobile number will be taken. This will not be used for marketing purposes or made available to any third parties other than those named in our terms and conditions.
Height This is for our use when the winners are selected so that the appropriate clothing can be sourced for their upcoming photoshoot.
Parent/guardian full name, email address and phone number To ensure that the user is who they claim to be and that they have received parental/guardian consent to take part in the competition we will ask for the parent/guardian’s contact details. In the instance that we think a false date of birth has been given we may want to call the parent/guardian to confirm this. These details will not be used for marketing purposes. We will also be contacting parents on a random basis to confirm users identity.

2. Collection of Information for Third-Party Sites and Sponsors

We do not allow third-party companies to advertise on our site and will not be passing on personal information to any third-parties.

4. Parental Review of Information

The parent/guardian named by the user has the right to review any information that we have collected online from your child. They also have the right to cancel the user’s profile at any time. This can be done by sending an email to web.feedback@bhs.co.uk. Please be sure to include your email address and a telephone number so that we can contact you to confirm your decision. To protect your child's privacy and security, we will only grant access to the person named by the child as their parent/guardian. If the parental information provided by the child is incorrect, or we deem it to be incorrect, we will delete the profile.
